Charles Vergo’s Rendezvous

You should order ribs now. They ship and it would totally be worth it. One of my favorite things to do in new places it to meet new people, eat at local places, and soak up the local color. This place was awesome on all counts. As a late birthday surprise, my wife took me here, and we stuffed ourselves with ribs, chopped pork, kielbasa, brisket, baked beans, coleslaw, and sweet tea. It was so good, we also got a jar of their bbq rub and a t-shirt. Hell yes, I am willing to advertise for this place for the next 20 years (I can make a t-shirt last!).

So the last couple posts have been about food…And I still have to talk about BB Kings Blues Club, Beale Street, and riverwalk soon. I also have photos I’ll probably share, as well as conference highlights. It’s been a busy couple of days and will continue to be awesome, I’m sure.

I travel to some very neat places, but few are able to so quickly ooze a level of coolness and relaxation as Memphis, TN. I’ve been excited about this trip since at least July, but didn’t do any preliminary “city” research. I hoped for a place to jog, old buildings, and character. CHARACTER. This city has it, and I like it. Expect a lot of photos this trip.
